Selective Love?

Disagreeing with someone doesn’t mean that they have become your enemy. This is the way of the weak and insecure. The idea that we can only befriend those who think like us is flawed. Difference in beliefs is not a declaration of war. The wisest way of life is to love everyone – including our real and imagined enemies. As Friedrich Nietzsche wrote, “The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently.” Truth does not need to live in isolation. Truth can thrive in the midst of those who deny it.
